casco wins the technology invention award of the chinese institute of electronics

on april 27th, the chinese institute of electronics held the 2023 science and technology award ceremony. casco won the second prize for technology invention for the project "core technology and application of intelligent multi-mode train control for rail transit", along with renowned universities such as tsinghua university, university of electronic science and technology of china, and beijing university of posts and telecommunications. a total of 8 second prizes for technology invention were awarded at this ceremony, and casco's standing out from fierce nationwide competition demonstrates the company's leading technological strength and continuous innovation capabilities in the field of rail transit control.

the chinese institute of electronics, a public institution directly under the ministry of industry and information technology, is a national first-level society. it established the science and technology award in 2002, which is divided into three categories: technology invention, natural science, and scientific and technological progress. the award aims to encourage scientific research, technological development and innovation, and the promotion and application of scientific and technological achievements in the field of electronic information, playing an important role in promoting technological progress and industrial development. this project, jointly completed by casco, tongji university, and shanghai shentong metro group, focused on the fully automatic operation of urban rail transit, multi-mode integration of train control systems, and the urgent need of improving service quality and energy conservation and carbon reduction. it independently innovated and developed six key technologies, including digitalization of all elements of rail transit lines, intelligent adaptation of multi-source information, safe interaction of train-ground communication, multi-mode adaptive integration, precise coordinated dispatching of trains, and autonomous coupling control, which have tackled multiple challenging issues in the field of rail transit operation control.

after long-term engineering application and transformation, the relevant project achievements have been successfully applied in 28 cities at home and abroad, including beijing, shanghai, hong kong, sydney, and cairo, covering more than 100 rail transit lines. these achievements have enhanced the core competitiveness and international influence of china's urban rail transit train operation control system, cultivated technological innovation talents in related fields, and achieved significant social and economic benefits.
