both dongguan-huizhou intercity railway and foshan-zhaoqing intercity railway applied casco’s ctc signaling system, and were successfully connected to the pearl river delta intercity rail transit ctc dispatching center newly built by casco.
at the same time, dongguan-huizhou intercity railway adopted casco’s c2 ato signaling system, which marks the application breakthrough of casco's onboard device for high-speed railway. based on the ctcs-2 train control system, the system added automatic train operation (ato) and has such functions as automatic operation between stations, programmed stop, automatic adjustment of train operation and linkage control of train door and screen door, creating a new mode combining high-speed railway and metro and further imporving the operational efficiency and safety.
the designed maximum speed of both dongguan-huizhou intercity railway and foshan-zhaoqing intercity railway reach 200 km/, making the departure interval during peak hours possible to be shortened to 2-3 minutes and operation like bus. thus, the commuting time between the four cities and between huizhou, zhaoqing and guangzhou will be greatly shortened. this will have positive impacts on giving play to and increasing the radiation effect of guangzhou as a central city, as well as the agglomeration of the pearl river delta city cluster. also it will help to further establish the “rail transit business district” industrial mode in various cities and counties along the intercity rail transit network in huizhou, zhaoqing and the pearl river delta and promote rapid and coordinated development of relevant regions.
